Gene Shalit Media Critic

Gene Shalit Media Critic, a 9 x 11 inch, ink and watercolor original is Skip Morrow's caricature of Gene Shalit, famous media critic for NBC's The Today Show from 1973 to 2010.  Like Skip Morrow, he was known for his frequent use of puns.  Skip captures his appearance with his large, iconic handlebar mustache, curly hair, large glasses, and colorful bowties and has given Shalit's likeness a humorous touch.  Gene Shalit once did a review in the year 2000 of two of Skip's calendars, The Joy of Smoking and I Still Hate Cats.
