Groundhog Day #1

Groundhog Day #1, an 8 x 9  1/2 inch, ink and watercolor original, is a whimsical moment of nature's surprise.  This piece captures a groundhog still with his nightcap on peering out of his hole in astonishment at his shadow on the green grass.  As the sun begins to rise, nearby, wide-eyed onlookers peek out behind the trunk and leaves of a tree and around a boulder to witness the deciding factor concerning the coming of spring.
